Washington competed collegiately at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where she was a four-year starter. She finished her career with 12 goals, five assists and 29 points in 73 games played, earning United Soccer Conference Third Team honors in 2007. She graduated in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science degree in business with a concentration in marketing.

As a four-year starter at Pennington Prep, one of the top ranked high schools in the country, Washington was a key player for the four-time New Jersey State Prep A Champions. The program went a combined 70-10-4 with 57 shutouts and two Mercer County titles during her career. Washington also starred as a member of the basketball program, which made four state prep school finals appearances during her career, winning the crown in 2004.

Washington began playing soccer when she was six years old along with her twin sister, Keri. She began her club soccer career playing in her hometown, Ewing, N.J., where she played for many years under Trinidad native Everard Lewis, who founded Phenoms Soccer and is also a Next Level Soccer Academy trainer and mentor. Washington then began playing for the Lower Makefield Panthers in Pennsylvania. She remained in the area, playing for FC Magic, Princeton Soccer Club, Hibernian Breeze and finished her club career at Jersey Shore Boca.
